Shipping Lead

Overview

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping operations and ensure accurate, on-time delivery of customer orders. This role plays a critical part in maintaining customer satisfaction by verifying product accuracy and coordinating logistics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, take ownership of inventory accuracy and shipping documentation, and be able to pivot quickly when priorities, schedules, or customer needs change. This position requires someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable working hands-on to keep materials, inventory, and shipments moving efficiently.

Shipping/Receiving

• Oversee daily shipping activities to support on-time delivery performance
• Verify part numbers, quantities, revisions, certifications, and packaging requirements for incoming and outgoing shipments
• Coordinate with Production and Quality to prioritize urgent orders
• Prepare packing slips, bills of lading, certifications, and other required documentation
• Electronically file all corresponding packing slips, certifications, and tracking information
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific and regulatory requirements, including ITAR where applicable
• Process receipts, shipments, and returns accurately within the ERP system
• Schedule freight pickups and communicate with carriers, customers, vendors, and suppliers
• Maintain shipping supplies and ensure work areas remain organized and audit-ready

Inventory Control

• Own the accuracy of inventory levels, ensuring physical inventory quantities match Acumatica records
• Issue material to the production floor per Work Orders, ensuring part numbers and quantities are accurate
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain organized inventory locations and ensure all material is properly identified, labeled, and accounted for
• Support accurate movement and tracking of material throughout the facility
• Ensure material is properly transferred between Work Orders, Inventory, Shipping, and other locations within Acumatica
• Perform routine inventory checks and communicate discrepancies or concerns promptly
• Maintain accurate inventory documentation and support physical inventory activities

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of shipping experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to pivot quickly and adjust priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for inventory and shipping accuracy
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably Acumatica, and standard shipping software such as UPS, FedEx, and LTL carrier portals
• Ability to read and understand Work Orders, part numbers, revisions, and customer shipping requirements
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments
• Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a production environment
