As an Oracle database administrator with hands-on development skills and cloud infrastructure experience, particularly within AWS-managed environments, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting our Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) client's product systems.On our team, you’ll administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle database environments supporting VA production systems to ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity. You’ll provide your client with peace of mind as you develop and contribute to policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You’ll use technology and tools including PL, SQL, Oracle failover technologies, and AWS servicesto identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database.In this role, you’ll closely impact our VA client. The world can’t wait.You Have:  Experience managing Oracle databases in production environments, Oracle GoldenGate including configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support, and migrating Oracle databases into AWS-managed RDSExperience with Oracle failover technologies such as Oracle Data Guard, RAC, or high-availability solutionsExperience managing AWS-managed RDS instances and working with related AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, Database Insights, and EventBridgeExperience with hands-on database development, including Data modeling, data object design, PL or SQL development, Database and SQL performance tuning, and SQL*PlusExperience with scripting in both Linux and Windows operating systemsExperience with GitHub, JIRA, VS Code, Toad, and ConfluenceAbility to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for production supportAbility to critically analyze and validate AI-generated responses and recommendations using domain knowledge and Oracle DBA expertise before applying them to production systemsAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirementsHS diploma or GEDNice If You Have:  Experience in regulated or high-availability production environmentsExperience leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude to facilitate database maintenance and developmentKnowledge database automation and CI/CD practices for database deploymentsAbility to clearly document technical work and provide regular progress updatesAbility to identify issues and take ownership without requiring direct instructionAbility to promote teamwork and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teamsAbility to triage and resolve production database issues independently and under time pressureBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldOracle Certification such as OCA or OCP CertificationVetting:Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.CompensationAt Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
