Patient Access Representative
Location: Houston, TX – Memorial City Area
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative to join a busy healthcare environment in the Memorial City area. The ideal candidate will have strong patient service skills, previous call center experience, and a background in scheduling and insurance verification.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments accurately and efficiently.
- Handle a high volume of inbound patient calls and provide excellent customer service.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Ensure appointments meet medical necessity and referral requirements.
- Post patient payments accurately.
- Update and maintain patient demographic and insurance information.
- Assist patients with scheduling questions and general appointment inquiries.
- Maintain accurate documentation while following HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare/patient access experience.
- At least 1 year of call center experience.
- Previous experience with patient scheduling.
- Experience with insurance eligibility verification.
- Experience posting patient payments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Must be dependable, professional, and detail-oriented.
