Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a lead cook in the absence of the Main Cook, including opening the kitchen, turning on equipment, and overseeing meal preparation.
- Assist in preparing and serving meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, following established menus and production sheets.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and management of all leftovers.
- Fill in for NS Utility Tech roles and provide comprehensive food service support.
- Accurately chart cooked foods for Engagement Center (EC) meals and complete daily checklists and task schedules.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization by cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and serving areas.
- Set up and maintain steam tables for each meal service.
- Monitor and accurately record temperatures of hot and cold items to ensure food safety.
- Perform various support tasks including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, replenishing condiments and utensils, and trash disposal.
- Check in stock deliveries on off-days and help monitor ovens and kettles alongside the Main Cook.
