Medical Receptionist Role Overview

The Medical Receptionist operates a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintains long distance call logs. Take and distribute accurate messages. Greet visitors and determine the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintain visitor logs, alerts appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee. Respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as our location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and/or email address. Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages. You limits decisions to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with MS Outlook
• 1+ years of experience with customer service / front desk work
• Basic Computer knowledge
• Must be a team player and has excellent communication skills
• Willingness to learn and be cross trained in other roles based on business need

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HEDIS
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Previous experience in a geriatric setting

Medical Receptionist Working hours:

Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

Scheduled 40 hours per week

Local travel may be required; Mileage is reimbursed

Language Proficiency Testing:

Bilingual English/Spanish. Must be able to speak, read and write in both languages without limitations or assistance. See Additional Information on testing. Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. The Federal Government will provide the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test that applicants will be required to take.

Pay Range $38,000 - $45,800 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
