School Health LPN (RCSD) - for Summer Work Program

Summer Work Position

This is for a Summer Work position and is not considered a BOCES ESY position. Applicants are encouraged to also apply to all other positions that they are qualified for. Location of position: Fairport NY 14450; Rochester City School District Term of employment: July 9, 2026 to August 19, 2026; Time frame varies with each assignment. Full Time, Part Time, 1:1 and Substitute positions available. Mandatory Summer Set-Up Meetings: June 4th = O'Connor Academy, eStart, Transition/Employment, Creekside (BPA Unit + TES Staff) June 11th = Creekside (BUP Unit) June 12th = Bird/Morgan Salary range: $21.73 - $34.01 per hour (or higher pending contract negotiations) or your 2026-27 rate in this title for current Monroe One Boces staff *Actual salary is dependent upon education, experience and contract.

Duties

• Monitor physical status of children regarding chronic diseases (i.e. epilepsy, diabetes) in addition to other disabilities (i.e. developmental, emotional).
• Dispense and monitor medications and treatments.
• Consult with staff regarding medical and developmental status of children.
• Liaison with physicians, community agencies, parents, students and staff.
• Provide First Aid to students and staff.
• Work under the direction of the School Nurse.
• Accompany student on community trips as needed.
• Accompany student on bus runs as needed.
• Provide personal care for 1:1 student as needed.
• Ability to run to emergencies and perform CPR.

Qualifications

• Civil Service eligibility as an Licensed Practical Nurse: A. Graduation from a NYS approved School of Practical Nursing, OR B. Possession of a valid NYS Registered Professional Nursing or NYS Licensed Professional Nursing license.
• CPR/AED Certification required.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation), including running to emergencies.
• Employment is contingent upon student enrollment and availability of programs.
