Diesel Mechanic Technician

Senior Level Diesel Technician – Pearl River, Louisiana Hourly Pay: $30.46 per hour. Pay is weekly, and a full range of benefits is offered with no waiting period. Benefits Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700) Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500, paid every quarter Sign‑On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days Schedule: Sunday through Thursday (10:00 am – 7:00 pm) Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO in the first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance Paid training to build your skills Safety‑first workplace & state‑of‑the‑art equipment Top Tech competition: Earn $250 – $50,000 per year Extra paid day off for U.S. military veterans 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in tech tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech & more Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including routine preventive work, complex mechanical and electronic diagnostics, and detailed inspections Replace defective components as instructed and work unsupervised on most tasks Maintain facility equipment and perform related maintenance duties Interact with customers and drivers to determine complaint nature and assign tasks Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation Abide by all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels Access and use internal and external maintenance documents as needed Support other operations, including Service Island tasks Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220) and OEM online diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred) Basic tool knowledge (required) At least 3 years of relevant work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred) Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification for the last 3 years) Additional certifications as required by location (required) Important Notes Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records checks, road tests, and/or customer‑specific badging or background requirements.
