Youth Advocate / Youth Prevention Coordinator

(Community Outreach Youth Programming Grant Leadership)

Location: Fallon / Churchill County Community & School-Based Services

Position Summary

New Frontier Behavioral Health Center is seeking a motivated, innovative, and community-minded Youth Advocate to lead and expand youth prevention programming throughout Churchill County.

This position is ideal for someone who is energized by building programs, connecting with youth, and creating meaningful community impact. The right candidate is a self-starter who can independently manage projects from concept to completion, develop strong partnerships, and creatively expand services to meet the evolving needs of youth in our community.

This is not a desk-only position and not a role with step-by-step direction each day. Success in this role requires initiative, organization, confidence in relationship-building, and the ability to turn ideas into action.

What Youll Do

  • Facilitate evidence-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum with school-aged youth in:
    • local schools
    • after-school programming
    • juvenile justice/probation settings
    • community-based youth programs
  • Expand youth programming by:
    • identifying underserved youth populations
    • building new partnerships
    • creating outreach opportunities
    • developing new class locations and delivery models
    • thinking creatively about how to engage rural youth
  • Manage assigned grant responsibilities, including:
    • data collection and reporting
    • monitoring program outcomes
    • tracking grant expenditures
    • maintaining alignment with Statement of Work goals
    • ensuring projected youth participation numbers are met or exceeded
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with:
    • educators
    • school administrators
    • probation partners
    • parents/caregivers
    • community organizations
    • youth-serving agencies
  • Represent the organization professionally in the community and actively advocate for youth wellness.

Preferred Background

  • Human services, social work, education, prevention, behavioral health, public health, or related field
  • Experience working with youth populations
  • Experience facilitating groups/classes preferred
  • Grant/program coordination experience strongly preferred
  • Community outreach or partnership development experience highly valued
