Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Fairmont, WV

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Onsite | Weekend rotation required (3 shifts per 4-week schedule) | Holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Stepdown/Med-Surg unit managing common diagnoses including respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 (Stepdown) and 1:5–6 (Floor) with support from nurse aides (2 per shift)
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone per physician orders and unit protocols
• Monitor patients on telemetry, with strips monitored remotely; manage patients on RT-managed CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Collaborate with House Supervisor and interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and safety
• Adhere to unit dress code (royal blue scrubs) and complete unit/department-specific orientation upon start

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (any licensing history must be disclosed at time of submission)
• Minimum of one year of Stepdown experience
• Current BLS certification (must be unexpired)
• Current ACLS certification (must be unexpired)
• Ability to titrate IV drips including Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius per facility policy; valid driver's license required at submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients on telemetry monitoring
• Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
• Experience working in a combined Stepdown and Med-Surg environment
