Position Summary:

The Appliance Sales Specialist serves as the primary expert and face of the company in a high-end, customer-focused showroom environment. Based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, this full-time role is responsible for engaging customers, identifying their unique lifestyle and performance needs, and delivering tailored home appliance solutions across top-tier brands. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting interactive product demonstrations, preparing detailed quotes, processing orders, and coordinating closely with warehouse, delivery, and installation teams to ensure seamless fulfillment. The ideal candidate blends technical appliance expertise with consultative selling skills to drive revenue, foster long-term client relationships, and maintain an exceptional showroom environment.

Consultative Sales & Engagement: Greet and guide retail customers, trade professionals, and homeowners through product selections, explaining technical specifications, features, and benefits across high-end kitchen and laundry appliances.

Product Demonstrations & Presentations: Conduct interactive, informative demonstrations showcasing smart features, custom finishes, luxury cooking modes, and energy-efficient technologies.

Quote & Order Management: Generate accurate sales quotes, verify product availability, and process orders through the company’s ERP/POS systems.

Project & Delivery Coordination: Work closely with delivery teams, warehouse personnel, installers, and outside sales representatives to coordinate project timelines and ensure order accuracy from purchase to delivery.

Pipeline & Relationship Management: Log customer interactions in CRM tracking systems, follow up promptly on active quotes and leads, and cultivate ongoing relationships with trade partners, builders, and repeat clients.

Continuous Product Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of major appliance brand lineups, active manufacturer promotions, rebate programs, and luxury home trends by attending vendor training sessions.

Showroom Maintenance: Keep the showroom floor organized, visually appealing, fully tagged, and ready for walk-in traffic or scheduled client consultations.

Issue Resolution & Post-Sale Support: Assist customers with order status updates, vendor warranty questions, returns, and delivery schedule adjustments in a professional, solutions-oriented manner.

Other Duties: Support special vendor events and carry out additional operational tasks as assigned.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2+ years of experience in appliance sales, kitchen design, or building materials/home goods retail.

Strong consultative selling skills with a proven ability to ask qualifying questions, highlight value over price, and close sales ethically.

Proficiency with computer applications, including POS/ERP systems, CRM tools, and standard Microsoft Office functions (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational habits, multi-tasking abilities, and acute attention to detail regarding model numbers and custom specifications.

Ability to work full-time retail hours, including periodic Saturdays.

3+ years of dedicated luxury or premium home appliance showroom sales experience.

Established familiarity with major premium and luxury appliance brands.

Background or formal coursework in interior design, kitchen planning, architecture, or visual merchandising.

Prior experience managing multi-unit package quotes or project-based sales for builders, contractors, and interior designers.

Ability to work on-site in a dynamic showroom environment with active customer interaction.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to full shift length).

Ability to safely lift, move, and reposition sample boards, marketing materials, or light inventory/display items up to 30 lbs.

Frequent bending, reaching, and moving around display models to inspect specs or demonstrate features.

This role is based in a showroom environment with regular customer interaction and collaboration with sales and support staff. The position requires strong interpersonal communication, flexibility, and attention to both aesthetics and functionality of product displays.
