Hardware Engineering Lab Lead - Marlborough, MA

Job Summary This role is for a lab lead to support Marlborough, MA Hardware Engineering labs. In this role, you will manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within multiple engineering labs, with specific focus on safety, security, and compliance using established doctrine and governance. Key Responsibilities Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies Management coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment Property & Metrology Management, including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets Perform lab purchase requests through SAP, SRM, and Vallen, while providing process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM) Oversee audit/assessment preparation and Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long‑range objectives, including engineering customer goals Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management Influence stakeholders within and outside responsible areas at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving Perform physical tasks while standing, sitting, or walking; occasional local travel may be required Qualifications Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field Experience in an engineering lab environment overseeing or implementing safety, security, compliance and/or property management Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations Experience working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination Ability to organize and track capital and expense assets Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) What You Will Learn Time management skills resulting from broad administrative management responsibilities Lab‑specific knowledge necessary for access Various horizontal and vertical communication skills What We Offer Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD Benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays (specific benefits depend on the business unit and collective bargaining agreement) Eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on level and coverage Relocation eligible Security Clearance U.S. citizenship is required.
