Software Integration Engineer 3 (On-Call) – Linux/Bash/Python/Docker/Kubernetes/Helm/Grafana/Jira Annapolis Junction, MD Overview Captivation is looking for software developers who can get stuff done while making a difference in support of the mission to protect our country. Description Captivation Software is looking for a senior level software integration engineer who shall be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component of the CASA Compute Environment (CCE). The CCE provides secure, multi-tenant, high‑performance, and highly available Kubernetes clusters operating within a Linux-based infrastructure. The role ensures platform reliability, scalability, security compliance, and optimal cluster performance in support of mission and application requirements. Requirements Security Clearance Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least eight years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment. Five years full‑time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and at least eight years of demonstrable experience. An industry‑recognized professional certification may substitute for one year of experience. A Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two years of experience. Required Skills Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux suite of tools. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman. Demonstrated experience administrating and monitoring Kubernetes clusters. Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Kubernetes workloads (ingress, performance, networking, storage, etc.). Experience with IaC principles, concepts, and methodologies using automation tools including Ansible. Experience writing, deploying, and maintaining Helm charts. Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana. Experience using Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration. Desired Skills Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.). Experience working in a DevOps environment that uses Agile principles and methodologies. Experience with or willingness to learn development of Python applications (REST services, microservices, etc.). This position is open for direct hires only.
