Patient Care Tech – PCT II – Neuroscience

Night shift - Full time – 36 hours.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital -Zayed 12 East is a 32-bed adult inpatient unit composed of 26 acute care neuro medical/surgical beds, and a six-bed epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU). On acute floor beds, you can expect to care for patients undergoing a variety of procedures and surgeries such as craniotomies, shunts, spinal fusions and aneurysm clippings / coilings. Additionally, you would care for a spectrum of patients with neurological disorders such as: parkinsons, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, guillain barre, ALS, cerebrovascular events and seizures.

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as a contributing member of the health care team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required.
• One year of clinical experience e.g., home care, outpatient, acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit; volunteer work as EMT or CRT may be considered.
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.

Salary Range: Minimum 20.49/hour - Maximum 31.76/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
