• No. of Beds in Department: 44 Hospital Beds

• Specialty Backup Available: Hospital-Based Specialty Support

• Support Staff Available: 9-Hour Mid-Level Coverage

• Standard Emergency Medicine Procedures

• Documentation of Special Procedure Training Required if Applicable

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Active Unrestricted Virginia Medical License

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• DEA: Active DEA with Virginia Address and Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5

• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS Required if Not Board Certified in Emergency Medicine; NRP Required for Non-ABEM Providers

• New Graduates Accepted; EM Residency Graduates Within the Past 12 Months May Be Considered; 3-Month Proctorship Required

• Other Qualifications: Graduate of an Accredited MD or DO Program; Completion of an ACGME/AOA Approved EM, FM, or IM Residency; ECFMG Required for Foreign Medical Graduates; Case Logs for Previous 2 Years Required; Preeclampsia CME Required for Initial Application and Every Two Years for Reappointment; Fellowship Required; Telehealth Experience Not Required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide emergency department physician coverage

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients

• Manage acute and emergent medical conditions

• Perform emergency stabilization and treatment

• Complete accurate documentation within Epic EMR
