This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout a hospital facility. You will clean patient rooms, discharge rooms, and public areas such as lobbies and restrooms, following strict sanitation standards to support patient safety and overall hospital operations.

• Clean and sanitize patient rooms and discharge rooms according to hospital standards and protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness in public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other common spaces.
• Wipe down and disinfect surfaces such as beds, furniture, counters, door handles, and equipment as directed.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in patient rooms, corridors, and public areas.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and waste from patient rooms and common areas.
• Handle and remove laundry and linens from patient rooms and designated areas as needed.
• Follow established sanitation and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Meet cleanliness and safety standards set by the hospital and adhere to all environmental services policies.
• Work a rotating weekend schedule to support 24/7 hospital operations.
• Perform additional cleaning and housekeeping tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.

• At least 1 year of housekeeping or janitorial experience.
• Experience in a hospital or hotel environment is preferred.
• Comfortable working in a medical setting where exposure to blood, trauma, and other clinical situations may occur.
• Ability to lift and push 50–75 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours per day in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting sanitation and safety standards.
• Reliability in following schedules, including rotating weekend shifts.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

• Previous experience in hospital environmental services or hotel housekeeping is highly beneficial.
• Comfort working around patients, clinical staff, and sensitive medical situations.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take on additional cleaning tasks as needed.
• Ability to work effectively across different shifts, including first, second, and third shifts.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks in a busy hospital setting.

This position is based in a fast-paced hospital environment that operates around the clock. Shifts are available across three schedules: first shift (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.), second shift (1:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.), and third shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.), with rotating weekend work to support continuous operations. You will work on your feet for most of the day, moving throughout patient rooms and public areas, and regularly lifting or pushing 50–75 pounds. The environment includes exposure to medical settings, including blood and trauma, and requires adherence to strict sanitation and infection control standards. Appropriate professional attire and any required protective equipment will be used to maintain safety and cleanliness.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

The pay range for this position is $15.10 - $15.10/hr.
