Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)

We are seeking a highly experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to provide safety leadership on a large scale federal construction project. This position requires a proven safety professional with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive a proactive safety culture across all site operations. Qualifications 5+ years of construction safety experience with a track record of success on complex projects CHST or CSP certification (required) OSHA 30 Hour Training (completed within the past 5 years) First Aid/CPR/AED certification (required) Must demonstrate strong knowledge of EM385-1-1 requirements and hold current 40-Hour certification . Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all aspects of site safety and health for the project, ensuring compliance with federal and contractual requirements Conduct and document daily safety and health inspections, including hazard identification and corrective action tracking Investigate incidents and prepare required reports; maintain OSHA 300 logs and daily production reports Participate in preconstruction, preparatory, and progress meetings to align safety strategies with project operations Ensure subcontractor compliance with all safety and health standards and procedures Diversified Safety Services is a nation‑wide safety consulting firm supporting contractors across all trades, from general contractors to specialty and subcontractors.
