Facilities Projects Manager

The Facilities Projects Manager leads a diverse portfolio of County initiativesincluding vertical construction, maintenance, IT, environmental, and infrastructure projectsmanaging all phases from planning and design through procurement, construction, and closeout. This role oversees project scopes, budgets, schedules, contracts, and consultant/vendor coordination while ensuring compliance, constructability, and effective project delivery. Responsibilities include preparing bid and contract documents, managing procurement processes, facilitating stakeholder collaboration, resolving design and construction challenges, and providing technical guidance on industry standards and best practices. The position also supports public communication, budget planning, staff leadership, and customer service efforts to successfully deliver projects that enhance County facilities, services, and quality of life.

Education & Credentials That Power This Role

Education and Experience:

An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree: Preferred: Construction Management, Engineering, Information Technology (I.T.)
• Three (3) years of experience in construction, I.T. or project management experience

Licenses and/or Certificates:

• Must maintain a valid driver's license.
• Depending on position assignment if assigned to work within the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office/Justice Center/Jail additional background checks will be required:
• Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS).
• FALCON Integrated Criminal History System.

Physical Demands

Walking, sitting, hearing, climbing, stopping, bending, seeing up close and far away, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions. Dependent upon position assignment, may frequently lift 25-50 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors and outdoors and requires some exposure to environmental changes (e.g., outdoor weather and/or field conditions, warehouses, covered loading docks, garages, etc.) or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights and/or dust.

Risk/Safety Conditions

The position requires some exposure or risk to physical health and/or physical safety (e.g., exposure to environmentally hazardous material, assault and battery, heavy equipment, communicable disease, etc.).

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities

All County employees are required to work before, during, or after an emergency as needed. This may include temporarily being assigned to work and performing duties outside of the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.
