Staff Physician Position Details Department: PCMG-MAIN | Hematology & Oncology Location: Phoenix Shift: Mon-Fri, Days, 8am-5pm Category: Physician/Div Chief/Med Dir Posting #: 1011875 Employee Type: Full-Time Position Summary The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the Phoenix Children’s mission of providing hope, healing, and the best health care for children and their families. Position Duties Patient Care Services Provide patient care services for which he/she is clinically privileged, including but not limited to: direct patient care services on an inpatient and outpatient basis, subspecialty consultations and follow‑up, diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures, urgent/emergent care as necessary. Strive to achieve the best patient and family centered care. Support hospital’s patient satisfaction goals and division’s specific targets. Support and adhere to divisional patient safety and quality of care standards. Practice contemporary evidence‑based medicine or the latest experience‑based medicine. Divisional Responsibilities Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (individual, division, hospital). Support the medical education programs and activities of the Division, including: direct supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals for delivery of inpatient and outpatient services; conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees; participate in the teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals assigned to the division; participate in postgraduate continuing education activities. Support the research endeavors of the division and other members of the division. Support programmatic growth of division and satellite efforts when appropriate. Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside of Phoenix Children’s, particularly if these activities support divisional clinical and teaching programs/initiatives. Represent Phoenix Children’s in the medical and business communities and before the general public in a professional manner. Physical and mental skills required: communication by telephone, computer or other devices; performing after‑hours or night call responsibilities; working regular scheduled hours. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested. Qualifications Education MD or DO degree. Special Skills Ability to move freely from facility to facility and examine patients. Communication by telephone, computer or other devices. Perform after‑hours or night call responsibilities as needed. Work regular scheduled work hours. Work well under pressure. Additional Requirements Current Arizona License to Practice Medicine or ability to obtain prior to start date. Board certified/Board eligible in the appropriate specialty.
