What You'll Do

As the General Manager for Magic of the Jack O'Lanterns Los Angeles, you are the operational leader responsible for the full execution of the event. You will oversee all departments, lead a team of seasonal managers, and ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality guest experience from setup through strike.

This role blends hands-on event execution with strategic oversight—you will drive staffing, safety, guest satisfaction, and financial performance while maintaining strict adherence to company standards and California compliance requirements.

Event Operations Leadership

• Oversee all daily event operations including attractions, parking, retail, photo, logistics, safety, and security.
• Ensure all operational areas are clean, functional, and aligned with brand and presentation standards.
• Lead event setup and strike, including vendor coordination, rentals, inventory tracking, and asset management.
• Monitor event flow and adjust operations in real time to optimize guest experience and throughput.

Team Leadership & Staffing

• Recruit, hire, train, and manage a large seasonal workforce, including department managers and hourly staff.
• Lead pre-season orientation and ongoing training to ensure operational readiness and service standards.
• Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and exceptional guest service.
• Identify and develop high-potential team members for future leadership opportunities.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce company policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable safety regulations.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and guest concerns with urgency and professionalism.
• Model safe working behaviors and maintain a safety-first culture across all departments.

Financial & Operational Performance

• Manage labor, scheduling, and operational expenses to align with budget targets.
• Drive revenue opportunities across retail and ancillary experiences.
• Evaluate performance metrics and implement improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.

Communication & Coordination

• Maintain consistent communication with corporate leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Lead regular management meetings to review performance, staffing, and operational priorities.
• Ensure clear communication across all departments and shifts.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• 3+ years of management experience in live events, attractions, hospitality, or other high-volume environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing large teams in fast-paced, operational settings.
• Strong understanding of crowd management, event logistics, and guest experience delivery.
• Ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems (email, spreadsheets, reporting tools).
• Experience in entertainment, events, or seasonal operations strongly preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods (6+ hours).
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Work is performed in immersive environments with low lighting, loud audio, theatrical effects, and outdoor weather conditions.
• May work near moving equipment and in high-traffic guest areas.

Compensation & Employment Details

Seasonal Salary: $20,503.00 for the season, paid biweekly Employment Type: Seasonal/Temporary Expected Season Duration: 8/3/26 through 11/30/26 Work Schedule: Evenings, weekends, and holidays required during the operational season

This is a seasonal/temporary position with an anticipated end date. Employment beyond the stated season is not guaranteed.
