Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location

Charleston, SC | Inpatient

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Holiday rotation required | 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide complex nursing care to patients with multiple GI diagnoses, including those in Bariatric and Autologous Islet Cell Programs, on a 21-bed inpatient medical/surgical unit
• Care for patients 17 years of age and older across primary medical services including Luminal, Hepatology, and GI Surgery (Pancreobiliary, Bariatric, and Surgical Oncology)
• Utilize a modified modular nursing model to deliver team-based, patient-centered care
• Float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility staffing needs
• Document patient care and clinical information using EPIC
• Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June–November) as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical RN experience
• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license required (candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application; clearance to start is contingent on an active SC license)
• BLS certification required
• Candidates who were previously employed (including PRN) at this facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles) are accepted on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with GI, bariatric, hepatology, or surgical oncology patient populations
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching, or Magnet-designated facility
