Position: Charge Nurse

Job Type: Full-Time; Non-Exempt

Shift Details: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM. Rotating Nights schedule; two nights on, two nights off, three nights on, two nights off, with every other weekend off. New employee orientation is three full days and does require attendance for all days. Training is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday onsite and full days' attendance is required.

Work Location: Crisis - Cumberland Crisis Recovery Center; Fayetteville, NC

Salary/Hourly Wage: $39.00 - $41.00/hour

Retention Bonus: $12,000.00

Specialties / Licenses or Certifications:

-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

-Valid and current state-specific Nursing license (Compact licensure preferred)

-Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.

Summary of Job: The Charge Nurse position oversees the medical, psychiatric, substance abuse and nursing care of individuals served. The Charge Nurse position also oversees unit staff in clinical matters including Registered Nurses, Behavioral Health Technicians, Peer Support Specialists and Milieu Specialists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Guest Care & Advocacy:
   • Ensures completion of designated assessments of all individuals brought to the facility, develops plans and recovery solutions in partnership with the individual.
   • Supervises special diet requirements as needed.
2. Team Leadership :
   • Supervises the nursing services for designated shift including patient assignments and safety in the facility.
   • Supervises and/or provides nursing treatment and monitoring.
3. Compliance & Risk Management:
   • Assists leadership with assuring that the delivery of nursing care meets licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
   • Maintains medical and nursing supplies and equipment and monitors the safety and effectiveness of equipment.
   • Administers medication as required by protocol.
   • Initiates and/or ensures appropriate response to all medical emergencies in accordance with medical protocol and policy.
   • Completes clinical documentation as required.
   • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
   • Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
4. Cross Functional Collaboration:
   • Provides treatment and makes dispositions and referrals in consultation with the team.
   • Coordinates the relationship with outside medical and nursing support services including pharmacy and laboratory services.
5. Additional Duties:
   • Performs other related duties assigned.

1. Education/Licenses :
   • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
   • Valid and current state-specific Nursing license (Compact licensure preferred)
2. Experience :
   • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.

   • Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
4. Driving Requirements:
   • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations' driving policy.
   • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
5. Miscellaneous Requirement(s) :
   • Travel may be required based on business need.
   • Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
   • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
   • Successful complete and meet all requirements of the comprehensive credentialing process if applicable.

     • Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
     • Must be able to pass education verification check.
     • Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
     • Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).

A Nursing Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Physical Demands :

May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Work Environment

May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused. Work may include travel throughout the geographic region.
