CATERING CAPTAIN (FULL TIME)

Position: Catering Captain (Full Time) Location: University of North Alabama, One Harrison Plaza, Florence, AL 35632. Schedule: Full‑time; days and hours may vary. Open availability is required. We will discuss details during the interview. Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour. Job Summary Coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure all functions are delivered, served, and cleared in a timely fashion. Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Director. May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Determine workload requirements from catering orders. Meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements; address last‑minute changes and resolve problems. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service‑oriented manner. Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items. Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions. Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications. Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations. Serve food and beverages to guests. Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility. Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards. Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils. Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications A valid driver’s license is required. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s permit and/or alcohol server’s permit where required by state law.
