Position Summary

The Development Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day implementation of the Center for Black Women's Wellness fundraising program. Working under the direction of the Director of Strategic Philanthropy and alongside the Development Coordinator-VISTA, the Development Coordinator, supports donor engagement activities, owns a portfolio of donors towards proposal submission, and ensures the successful execution of annual fundraising initiatives.

This position translates fundraising strategy into action by coordinating timelines, monitoring progress toward fundraising goals, implementing donor stewardship efforts, and strengthening internal development systems.

Essential Responsibilities

Fundraising

• Implement annual fundraising plans and initiatives.
• Own a portfolio of donors for monthly proposal submission.
• Monitor fundraising activities and project timelines to ensure campaigns and initiatives remain on schedule.
• Coordinate implementation of annual giving, corporate engagement, and donor stewardship activities.
• Track fundraising progress and prepare internal reports on campaign performance and revenue goals.
• Recommend process improvements that strengthen fundraising efficiency and donor experience.

Donor Stewardship

• Manage a portfolio of annual and mid-level donors through stewardship and relationship management activities.
• Coordinate donor touchpoints, including stewardship meetings, recognition opportunities, and impact reporting.

· Serve as the primary lead for the donor newsletter.

• Support the Director of Strategic Philanthropy in preparing donor briefing materials and cultivation plans for major gift prospects.
• Identify opportunities to increase donor retention and annual giving participation.

Team Leadership

• Establish project timelines and task priorities.
• Review development materials for accuracy and consistency before distribution.
• Ensure development projects are completed on time and in accordance with organizational standards.

Development Operations

• Implement and oversee fundraising operations to ensure accurate gift processing, reporting, and donor record management.
• Support and monitor CRM utilization and data quality while supporting continuous improvement of development systems.
• Review fundraising metrics and dashboards to support departmental planning and decision making.
• Coordinate internal fundraising calendars and departmental work plans.
• Support all development administration and operations.

Event Implementation

• Manage the implementation of development-related activities for signature fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement opportunities.
• Coordinate cross-departmental planning meetings to ensure fundraising objectives are integrated into event execution.
• Monitor sponsorship fulfillment and donor recognition.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Communications, Finance, and Program teams to support fundraising initiatives.
• Coordinate collection of program outcomes and impact information needed for donor stewardship and funding reports.
• Support preparation of development materials for leadership and Board meetings.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Four to six years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing fundraising projects and donor stewardship initiatives.
• Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with donor databases and CRM systems.

Preferred

• Experience working in healthcare or human services nonprofits.
• Knowledge of fundraising operations and donor lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting fundraising events and annual giving programs.
