Our goal at Jeff's Bagel Run is to bake fresh, bring joy, and build community. We started in our founder's (Jeff) home kitchen in 2019 and have grown to open over a dozen locations in the Orlando market. We are hiring for our Celebration Restaurant, that is located at 1587 Future Way, Kissimmee, FL 34747. This location is proudly owned and operated by Chris and McKenize Cohen. We are looking for a dedicated person who is looking to learn the bagel business, and hopefully grow with us as we expand our footprint. We operate as a team, and we close at 2pm everyday! Job Description Jeff’s Bagel Run is customer-centric and demanding. Our work environment includes: International workforce Lively atmosphere We are looking for a Shift Leader to oversee operations and workers during scheduled shifts. Shift Leader responsibilities include managing cash, resolving conflicts and checking equipment. Ultimately, you will ensure all aspects of your shift run smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts Schedule employee shifts and assign duties Manage time-off requests and handle last-minute absences Train and coach new employees Inspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to management Check cash drawers and prepare bank deposits Ensure health and safety standards are followed Address customer and employee complaints Resolve conflicts between workers Foster and maintain a positive work environment Skills Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations Commitment to excellent service Working well within a team Leadership skills and ability to make decisions fast Strong problem-solving aptitude Ability to stand for long periods High school diploma is preferred Shift Leaders are those who provide leadership to each team member and make sure each customer gets a fast, accurate and friendly experience. Shift Leaders will be responsible for managing systems such as training, food safety, customer/employee safety and security, cash handling and inventory management. Shift Leaders must be able to set targets, delegate tasks, follow up and report to the General Manager. Additional Information Shift Leaders will be required to have a ServSafe certificate. Any leadership training completed will need to be communicated. Be able to identify training opportunities with fellow team members, train team members to communicate with customers to ensure we are providing a friendly experience. Required to complete daily food safety checks including FIFO, secondary code dates, Health Inspections and be able to actively monitor food handling in the restaurant. Engage in customer/employee safety including keeping the restaurant a clean and safe environment. Have basic cash handling skills Understand and enforce all applicable Child Labor Laws Maintain a professional appe arance and hold all team members accountable to wear the correct uniforms. Must have great communication skills and a positive, encouraging attitude! Dissatisfied with the options available, they decided to take matters into their own hands. In 2019, when Jeff faced a layoff, Danielle saw an opportunity to turn their shared love of bagels into something more. With Jeff as the baker and Danielle as the taste tester, they embarked on a journey to perfect the art of bagel making. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, Jeff initiated what would become known as the “bagel run” – personally delivering freshly baked “Always boiled, never toasted” bagels door-to-door to friends, neighbors, and local businesses. The response was overwhelming, with demand quickly outpacing supply. Fueled by the enthusiasm of their community, Jeff’s Bagel Run evolved from a humble home kitchen operation to a thriving business. The success of the “bagel run” paved the way for Jeff and Danielle to expand their reach, selling their delectable bagels at local markets and events. Finally, in June 2021, they realized their dream of opening the first Jeff’s Bagel Run brick-and-mortar location in Ocoee, Florida.
