Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Radiation Oncology Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary radiation oncology team. The role focuses on patient assessment, education, counseling, and coordination of care to support patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' physical and emotional needs related to radiation therapy and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Educate patients and families on treatment processes, side effects, and coping strategies.
• Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Facilitate referrals to supportive services such as rehabilitation, hospice, nutritional support, and community resources.
• Serve as a liaison between the radiation oncology department, external facilities, and healthcare providers.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active Colorado RN license in good standing.
• Hold BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
• Bring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience specifically in radiation oncology nursing.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with team members and patients.
• Have thorough knowledge of oncology care, including current trends, evidence-based practices, and cultural competency.
