Structural Engineer (5-10+ years)

Structural Engineering mid-level to senior-level candidate with five to ten years of experience in the design of commercial, institutional, and industrial structures for new and existing construction in Bozeman. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multidiscipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. No paid interview travel or relocation expenses are offered for this position. This position is not remote. Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform project management duties and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of projects. Collaborate with architects, owners, and contractors to provide well-coordinated and high-quality structural drawings. Lead a team of engineers, designers, and drafters to execute structural designs. Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design. Perform structural analysis and design of structural members such as beams, columns, walls, joists, and foundations. Develop structural models that mathematically define and idealize the actual structure being designed. Use approved codes and standards to define structural demands on buildings due to wind and seismic loadings. Analyze and design connections of the various structural elements in a building structure. Perform analysis needed to evaluate seismic risk in existing buildings using approved structural codes and standards. Assist in managing BIM and production efforts. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience with structural computer analysis software systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam. Experience with the latest release of Autodesk Revit design tools. Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain a strong team of professionals and support staff within a cooperative multidisciplinary office performing at a high level of satisfaction to clients. Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with the structural design of buildings or similar structures. Licensed Montana Civil (PE) required. Licensed Montana Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
