Salary Full‑Time: $27.00 – $34.24 / hr ( benefits eligible ) PRN: $35.00 / hr Physical Therapist Assistant Position Overview Assist with ensuring the health and well‑being of individuals by providing comprehensive and quality therapy services. Responsible for administering skilled physical therapy treatments as developed and recommended by a Registered Physical Therapist. Benefits Competitive pay Flexible scheduling (especially for PRN team members) Supportive team environment Opportunities for growth within Elderwood organization The chance to make a real difference in the lives of others Responsibilities Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of a Physical Therapist Monitor and document resident progress and responses to treatment Communicate effectively with therapy team members, nursing staff, and physicians Assist in maintaining a safe and clean therapy environment Support residents in achieving their highest level of independence Assist the Physical Therapist in planning, developing and carrying out treatment programs and procedures for residents Write observations of resident behavior and progress in Progress Notes Maintain statistical records and other departmental reports as requested by the Physical Therapist Assist with in‑service training programs upon request Maintain supplies in good order and perform daily sanitation of equipment Arrive to work on time, regularly, and according to scheduled shift; responsible for own transportation Utilize electronic timekeeping system Observe and practice confidentiality of resident information and privacy when performing job duties Recognize and follow the facility’s dress code, including wearing a name tag at all times Perform assigned duties according to the service excellence standards and goals established for this position and for all staff members of the facility Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program New York State license to practice PTA (or eligibility) Current valid CPR/BLS credentials Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level Experience working with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors in a clinical setting Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
