Prep Cook (Seasonal) – Captain Whidbey Inn Work at the historic Captain Whidbey Inn on Penn Cove. The culinary team celebrates local produce and offers a finer dining experience. Responsibilities Use specification sheets to prepare daily preparation requirements, maintain par levels of necessary items. Prepare new menu items under supervisor direction. Ensure attractive, consistent presentation of food items, both buffet and plated. Collaborate with line cooks; monitor quality, presentation, and consistency. Handle customer requests in a timely manner. Setup, restock, maintain, and clean food preparation areas. Ensure presentation standards for hot and cold items. Read and interpret recipes. Conduct product inventories, ordering, and receiving under supervisor direction. Maintain team grooming, sanitation, and safe food handling standards. Perform opening and closing kitchen procedures. Qualifications Previous cooking experience preferred. Required State Food Handler’s License(s). Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; present information to staff in one‑on‑one or small group settings. Knife skills and ability to adjust preparations for flavor and accommodate customer needs. Benefits Eligibility of perks dependent upon job status. Hourly Pay Rate: $20‑$22 DOE.
