Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant

Location: Lafayette, LA Experience: 8-10+ years We are seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 8–10+ years of hands-on accounting and bookkeeping experience and be comfortable managing day-to-day accounting functions with accuracy and minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable Prepare bank and credit-card reconciliations Prepare monthly financial statements Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and financial analysis Assist with payroll and related accounting records, as applicable Support tax preparation and provide information to outside accountants as needed Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner Qualifications Minimum 8–10+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar systems Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong communication and problem-solving skills CPA license is not required Preferred Qualifications Experience overseeing or handling the full accounting cycle Experience working with small or mid-sized businesses Experience preparing financial statements and management reports What We’re Looking For A proactive, solutions-oriented thinker Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations Effective communicator and collaborative team player What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience A professional and collaborative work environment Opportunity to take ownership of important accounting functions How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your accounting/bookkeeping experience, including the accounting software you have worked with and the types of businesses or organizations you have supported.
