About the Position:

We are is seeking a compassionate and motivated Counselor in Training (CIT) to join our team. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the substance use and behavioral health field while working under the supervision of licensed professionals.

The CIT will support clients throughout their treatment journey while also assisting with admissions, case management, scheduling, front-desk operations, and day-to-day clinical coordination. This is an excellent opportunity to build practical counseling experience in a collaborative, client-centered environment.

What You'll Do

• Assist with intake assessments and support the admissions and discharge process.
• Provide case management support and help coordinate client services.
• Schedule appointments for therapists, nurse practitioners, and physicians, including individual and group sessions.
• Coordinate with the Nurse Practitioner to schedule required initial and follow-up appointments.
• Monitor and manage incoming client leads through the EMR/CRM system and assist with client engagement.
• Communicate with house managers regarding client attendance and participation in scheduled groups.
• Support therapists and clinical staff with documentation, client records, and progress monitoring in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Assist with crisis intervention and management while prioritizing client safety.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with clinical staff to support client care.
• Under appropriate supervision, assist with individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing .
• Assist with program initiatives, research, and other clinical projects as needed.
• Perform administrative and front-desk duties that support the smooth operation of clinical services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current Counselor-in-Training (CIT) credential issued by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling.
• Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or behavioral health needs is preferred.
• Knowledge of counseling techniques and therapeutic approaches, including addiction counseling, behavioral therapy, grief counseling, or psychodynamic approaches, is a plus.
• Understanding of crisis intervention, client safety, and clinical documentation practices.
• Experience using EMR/CRM systems preferred; Ritten or KIPU experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Background in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
