Details Work in the IMC unit, also supporting the Thoracic Surgery unit Patient population includes telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown cases Care for ventilator-dependent and post-transplant patients Night shift schedule, mostly 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), with some 8-hour shifts available Every other weekend required Some holiday coverage required, including 12/24 and 12/25 Epic EMR experience required Floating required as needed Requirements Active WI RN license or compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry/oncology/cardiac/PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown specialty Academic Level I or II trauma center experience or similar size hospital required Ventilator management and post-transplant care experience required Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% overall passing score Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration Experience with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and interpretation of ABGs Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and titrating cardiac drips Teaching hospital experience preferred Additional Information Provide telemetry and intermediate care nursing to a complex patient population including cardiac, oncology, and post-transplant cases Participate in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team activations Limited RTO availability during the weeks of 12/22 to 1/5 Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted Travel RN experience required Located at a Magnet-designated, nationally ranked academic medical center in Madison, WI American Traveler Job ID P-770894.
