Acara Solutions is seeking a Senior CNC Mill Set Up Machinist to join our client on a Full-Time Direct Hire opportunity in San Jose CA 95131

About the Opportunity:

The Senior CNC Mill Set Up Machinist will set up and operate CNC mills, machine complex parts to customer specifications, troubleshoot machining issues, support new program prove-outs, and mentor less experienced machinists.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run new and repeat CNC mill jobs independently.
• Machine complex parts in various materials.
• Select cutting tools, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and work-holding methods.
• Prove out new CNC programs with the Programming team.
• Use CNC controls, including macros, and edit G-code at the machine.
• Design and manufacture fixtures and work holding using MDI or manual machines.
• Inspect parts to tolerances as tight as 0.0001" using GD&T.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and process issues.
• Estimate job completion times and record job, setup, and cycle-time data.
• Mentor less experienced machinists.
• Follow quality, safety, CNC programming, and company procedures.
• Maintain production records, part counts, and a clean work area.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• High school diploma/GED and 3-5 years of related experience , or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What Sets You Apart:

• CNC mill setup and machining experience.
• Experience machining complex parts.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and work holding.
• G-code editing and CNC macro experience.
• GD&T and precision inspection experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
