Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 3x12.0 hours.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, as well as orientees. Emphasizing patient and employee safety, the RN promotes a culture of safety within the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans based on collected data.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis, collaborating with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, providing direct care with a focus on patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching upon admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel and delegate appropriately.
• Maintain environmental safety in line with hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning by providing guidance and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
• Prioritize activities and manage time effectively to meet patient needs.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific to CIRH).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
