Admissions Coordinator Parttime

Purpose

The Admissions Coordinator plays a key role as a front-facing representative of the school. The Coordinator supports the Director of Admissions by conducting tours, managing inquiries, and follow-up phases of the Admissions process.

Qualifications

● Must be a Christ-follower who upholds, in word and deed, the Hill Country Christian School of Austin’s Core Values and Statement of Faith.

● Must faithfully attend a church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of this school.

● Must recognize, understand, and agree to live by the moral and ethical standards of Hill Country (see Statement of Faith).

● Bachelor’s degree and one to three years of related work experience in sales, marketing, public relations, or education.

● Superior customer service and sales skills that result in accomplishing the organization’s goals.

● Friendly and helpful demeanor, with a strong understanding of how to establish rapport quickly and foster relationships with those he/she encounters.

● Ability to speak fluently about Christian education in various contexts.

● Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

● Prior experience managing multiple projects and completing tasks on time.

● Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent workload changes and competing demands.

● Proficiency in working with computers and software, especially Microsoft Office and Google platforms.

Admissions Responsibilities

● Maintain a professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor, serving as a positive and welcoming representative of the school in all interactions.

● Lead engaging and informative school tours that can be quickly adapted to each family's needs and/or concerns.

● Accurately discern “mission-appropriate” families as defined by our Admissions Policy through asking appropriate questions and active listening.

● Demonstrate a kind, service-minded approach when interacting with families who are not mission-appropriate and guiding them to school options when appropriate.

● Manage all inquiries promptly, provide clear and accurate information about the school, and discern before the tour phase “mission-appropriateness” to guide families toward their “next steps” in the Admissions process.

● Complete self-assigned FACTS tasks (follow-up inquiry phone calls/emails, tour follow-ups, and event follow-ups) in a timely manner with the goal of moving them through the admissions funnel.

● Add new inquiries to our Lead Nurture Series database, ensuring families receive targeted strategic communications to keep them engaged and informed. Assist the Admissions Associate with processing applications during high volume enrollment periods.

● Assist with admissions events throughout the school year (Discover HillCo, Preschool Preview, and Family and Friends Night).

● Assist the Admissions Associate with processing applications during high-volume enrollment periods.

● Provide occasional coverage for the front desk for bathroom breaks or during high-volume periods.

● Work in-person, year-round, except for designated school breaks, paid time off, and personal vacation time.

● Maintain confidentiality at all times.

● Address any staff, student, or parent issues by the principles outlined in Matthew 18 as commanded by Jesus Christ.

Physical Requirements

● Must be able to physically conduct on-campus tours that require extensive walking with few breaks between tours.

● Must be able to remain in a stationary position part of the time using repetitive arm, hand, and finger movements.

● Needs to frequently move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

● Operates a computer the majority of the time and frequently a copy machine.

● Ability to work in an open office setting with frequent in-person interaction and numerous interruptions.

● Frequently communicates with co-workers, vendors, and others. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, whether in person, via email, or telephone.

● Possible exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses.

● Provide own transportation to local and remote events.

● Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
