School Health Office Assistant Assist the school nurse in maintaining current and accurate medical health records on all students. Perform tasks as delegated and supervised by the licensed school nurse. Serve as a resource for students and families. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Check and document vital signs Perform basic first aid Document vision, hearing and BMI screenings Monitor bathroom use Maintain health records and state mandated immunization records on students. Administer OTC medications Maintain health office cleanliness, monitor expiration dates of inventory, assist with ordering office supplies and make copies as needed. Assist with scheduling and performing BMI assessments and annual Flu clinic. Assist with monthly AED checks Assist with registration activities including gathering and filing health records. Courier duties as needed Attend required district and department in-services and training. Follow HIPPA and FERPA laws Perform other duties as assigned. Job qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Basic math, writing, and communication skills. Ability to operate personal computers, possess basic word processing and Microsoft skills. Eschool and WebIZ training after being hired. Ability to operate general and specialized medical equipment such as blood pressure cuff, Glucometer and AED. CPR and first aid certified
