Job Title

Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Float Pool)

Contract | 12-hour shifts (Day and Night shifts available) | Onsite | Float Pool

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity telemetry setting with a patient population that includes pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post cath lab, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring systems; sign off on strips read by monitor technicians — strip reading proficiency is required
• Manage non-titrating cardiac drips including amiodarone, cardizem, and heparin; experience with drips is required
• Operate as a primary care nurse in a resource-limited environment, often functioning with minimal tech support
• Float between units within the primary facility as well as to a secondary facility approximately 9 miles away, covering telemetry and med-surg assignments, including potential ER med-surg/telemetry holds
• Complete unit-specific orientation including at least one shift on each assigned unit and orientation to the secondary facility

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2–3 years of RN experience in a telemetry or comparable acute care setting
• Demonstrated experience managing cardiac drips; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with chest tubes preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience working in high-acuity, resource-limited environments with the ability to adapt quickly across multiple units and settings
