Empower students with your expertise as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) for a rewarding part-time contract opportunity near Marietta, GA. Support a dedicated 6th-grade student by delivering specialized instruction and guidance according to their unique needs. What you’ll bring:
- Valid Georgia PSC certification with a Visual Impairment/TVI endorsement
- Proven experience delivering instruction to students with visual impairments
- In-depth knowledge of assistive technology, accessibility strategies, and adaptive curriculum
- Collaborative mindset for partnering with classroom educators and support staff
- Commitment to tracking and communicating student progress and implementing IEP accommodations
Key responsibilities:
- Provide two tailored, 30-minute, one-on-one sessions each month for a 6th‐grade student
- Deliver direct, specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and individual learning needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement accommodations and accessible content
- Consult regarding appropriate assistive technology and accessibility solutions
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Ensure compliance with relevant IEP services and accommodations
- Serve as a resource to the school team on vision-specific needs and best practices
