Construction Craft Instructor

job summary:
Join the industrial construction education sector as a traveling Construction Craft Instructor, initially based out of key project sites like Bogalusa, LA, Claude, TX, or across Mississippi (Clinton, Canton, Lake Cormorant). In this temp-to-perm role, you will be responsible for delivering advanced instruction, managing curriculum development, and guiding the next generation of craft workers across classroom, remote, and field settings. This dynamic position requires 70% or more weekday travel across various U.S. project sites, with the flexibility to work remotely one week per month.

Candidates must possess at least 6 years of journey- or technician-level electrical or construction craft experience, ideally with a blend of open shop or union exposure. You need more than 3 years of successful vocational teaching experience and the ability to obtain an NCCER Instructor Certification. strong computer literacy is essential, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and virtual tools like Teams or Zoom.

responsibilities:

• Teach advanced craft theory, power distribution, transformers, and industrial troubleshooting across project sites.

• Travel 70% or more Monday through Friday to various U.S. project locations, returning home on weekends.

• Oversee apprentice enrollment, application processing, scheduling, and progress tracking.

• Maintain accurate program documentation and regulatory accreditation compliance.

• Provide curriculum leadership, enhance instructional strategies, and mentor less experienced instructors.
