As part of a lean team, you will be responsible for many aspects of Systems Engineering across the full system lifecycle. The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible, and collaborative with a focus on mission success. This role requires a balance of traditional acquisition systems engineering with speed, adaptability, and agility. Systems Engineers work in close collaboration with our subject matter experts and with our vendors to ensure these complex, first-of-their-kind systems meet our needs. As a Systems Engineer you will be responsible for key aspects of the project including the technical baseline, requirements management, and verification. You will use digital engineering tools throughout system design, integration, and test.This position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio and is within a commutable distance from Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside. #LI-HB1Essential Job ResponsibilitiesProvide technical oversight and accountability for vendor engineering teamsServe as key technical evaluator of vendor designs, plans, and documentation from a holistic system perspectiveConduct independent system trade studies and performance checks to validate or challenge vendor resultsManage requirements decomposition and allocationManage requirements verification & validation planning and executionIdentify system technical risks and propose risk mitigationsDevelop and maintain system architecture and behavioral models using SysML and other digital engineering tools.Minimum Qualifications5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles across multiple lifecycle phases (requirements derivation, interface definition, integration, and verification).Strong “systems thinking” mindset with the ability to analyze how component-level decisions affect overall system performance.Clearance: Active Secret Security ClearanceMust be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with enhanced security checksPreferred RequirementsInterdisciplinary engineering backgroundProficiency with SysML and digital engineering tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Sparx EA, Rhapsody).Background or strong technical interest in radar systems, RF electronics, digital beamforming, or signal processingExperience with analysis and modeling tools/programs (such as MATLAB, Python)Experience planning and executing tests of complex systems in constrained environmentsHands-on experience with design, integration, test, and verification of hardware or software.INCOSE ASEP or CSEP Certification, or similarPhysical RequirementsOffice or industrial environment.
