Driver III

The Driver III will operate commercial truck/trailer, tractor trailer or combination vehicle (a vehicle that weighs over 26,000 lbs.) that requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A to pick-up and deliver parcels. AIT/Spur Drivers are responsible for safely and accurately deliver and pickup cargo, keep accurate driving log- ELD and for inspect and maintain the company trucks.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck to and from specified destinations safely and follow all state, local laws, and DOT regulations
• A valid CDL A is required to drive a truck 26,001 lbs. or greater
• Focuses on safety and compliance including the real time reporting of any accidents, incidents encountered on the road, monitoring of road conditions and following all applicable traffic laws
• Handles general fleet maintenance including appropriate fueling, cleaning of truck, washing of windows, full inspection of truck before and after trip and proactive reporting of any maintenance needs
• Prepare receipt for load picked up or bill of lading.
• Maintain driver hours of service using electronics logs and ensures rest periods according to state and federal regulations
• Maintains and ensures compliance with DOT and other applicable regulations, including State or Federal regulations
• Provides timely communication with supervisor/manager regarding the status of daily route; including, when stops have been completed, when taking lunch or other brakes, and prior to clocking out
• Ensures timeliness of client delivery by proactively anticipating any delivery challenges and ensuring timely departure
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies. Ensure time, date, verification, and signature on all freight paperwork
• Perform emergency roadside repairs, secure cargo with proper equipment; load bars, e-track, and straps during transit
• May load and unload truck when not driving the truck
• May operate a forklift or pallet jack when not driving the truck
• Destination may be either Short Haul or Long Haul
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies
• Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary
