Excel Tutoring Site Coordinator

Excel Tutoring program launched during the 2023-2024 school year to provide additional, afterschool, academic support to students who need it most. Now, entering its third year, the program supports hundreds of students across our elementary and upper schools. The program is in‑person, afterschool, high‑impact tutoring hosted by Cambridge Public Schools. It uses intensive, relationship‑based, and personalized instruction to accelerate learning for students who are performing two or more grade levels below expectations. We offer two 10‑week sessions throughout the school year. Site coordinators can work one or two sessions and are responsible for gathering children, handing out snacks, documenting sessions, connecting with caregivers, and ensuring smooth dismissal procedures. Session Information Session I: 10/06/25 – 12/19/25 – staff professional learning week and preparation 9/29 Session II: 02/09/26 – 05/08/26 – staff professional learning and preparation 2/02/26 Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, from school dismissal – late bus Site Coordinator Responsibilities Ensuring student safety during arrival and dismissal procedures Maintaining student and staff attendance records Building relationships with students during the tutoring program Sharing regular program updates with families and caregivers Attending professional learning sessions as applicable Providing substitute coverage when tutors are absent, as needed (paid at lead teacher rate) Minimum Requirements Experience working with school‑aged children in an urban setting Strong organizational and classroom management skills Ability to collaborate with colleagues in support of students Priority will be given to regularly appointed staff from Cambridge Public School District Contract Information Length of contract: September 29, 2025 – December 19, 2025 Contract amount: Not exceed $2,800.00 Hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate.
