Medical Assistant

Busy dermatology practice in Spotswood, NJ is searching for a reliable Medical Assistant to perform clinical duties to keep our Dermatology practice running efficiently. The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing surgeries and any other procedures performed. This position ensures the maintenance of a safe, efficient, and quality-focused environment by conducting pre-surgical evaluations, providing patient and family education, assisting with surgical procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining meticulous patient records in both electronic and physical formats. Job Description Recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical and surgical procedures and other patient care. Preparing MOHS paperwork and instruments, assisting during procedures, bandaging, suture removal, educating patients on wound care. Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms Sterilizing and preparing instruments. Handle prescription refills as needed. Call patients with medical care instructions and biopsy/lab results. Manage electronic medical records (EMR) documentation accurately and timely. Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families. Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. Front desk coverage includes answering phones and scheduling appointments Other clerical duties may include, but are not limited to, faxing, prior authorizations, patient results phone calls, lab and surgical paperwork. Qualifications High level of professionalism Attention to detail with strong ability to multitask Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of electronic medical health care record systems Excellent computer and phone skills Experience: Minor surgical procedure experience Ability to be flexible to cover as needed greatly appreciated. Dermatology experience is a plus. Experience in MOHS assistance is a plus. Experience with and knowledge of EMR. Experience in assisting with minor surgical procedures.
