Job Opportunity: Glaucoma Ophthalmologist
Our organization is currently looking for a full-time glaucoma ophthalmologist to join the Department of Ophthalmology. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to academic pursuits. The role encompasses various responsibilities, including:
- Providing patient care
- Clinical instruction for medical students and residents
- Engaging in research activities

Department OverviewThe Department of Ophthalmology handles approximately 40,000 patient visits annually across multiple locations. Faculty members provide care at the Hines VA Hospital, the Loyola Center for Health, and four additional satellite offices. The glaucoma ophthalmologist will primarily see patients at:
- The Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge, a comprehensive 104,000 sq ft outpatient facility
- Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital
This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes:
- Starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945
- Compensation based on academic rank and experience
- Comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Paid time off
- Malpractice insurance coverage, including post-employment tail coverage
- Reimbursement for relocation expenses (in accordance with IRS guidelines)
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) days and allowance
- Additional benefits from our organization or the VA, if applicable
