Compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor Needed! Position Overview The Substance Use Counselor will assist patients through medically supervised treatments and provide techniques for managing opioid addiction. Responsibilities include conducting individual and group counseling sessions, crisis management, coping strategies, and evaluating patient progress. Collaboration with doctors, nurses, and other counselors is essential to facilitate overall patient outcomes. Responsibilities Assist patients through medically supervised treatments and provide opioid addiction management techniques. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions focused on crisis management and coping strategies. Evaluate patient progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to achieve overall outcomes. Provide individual and group counseling services; deliver direct service hours at scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment. Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient. Complete bio‑psychosocial assessments. Develop aftercare and discharge plans. Ensure efficient, trauma‑informed delivery of counseling services to all patients. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service field. Certification as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of West Virginia. Preferred experience working with chemically dependent individuals. Demonstrated positive, non‑judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients. Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records). Successful drug screen and criminal background check. Benefits Competitive salary.
