Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric categories using both recognized evaluations and hands-on observation methods.
Create tailored therapy plans targeting specific short and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
Implement individual speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Partner with various healthcare professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families to develop comprehensive care plans.
Educate patients and their families to reinforce progress outside of clinical interactions.
Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the therapeutic process.
Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field via ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA certified.
State license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
Expertise in evidence-based practices for a spectrum of clients across all ages, along with a strong foundation in developmental and acquired communication disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to customize therapy approaches in response to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Sound clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
Proficient in navigating electronic medical records and maintaining documentation standards.
