Insurance and Bad Faith Recovery Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Insurance and Bad Faith Recovery Attorney for a fully remote position, with a preference for candidates based in California. This role involves advocating for clients wrongfully denied insurance coverage or treated unfairly by insurers. Duties Manage insurance bad faith and coverage dispute cases from inception to resolution. Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleduings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. Conduct legal research and draft complex motions, including dispositive motions and motions to compel. Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, including insurance representatives. Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings. Analyze insurance policies and coverage issues to develop case strategies. Requirements Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Active license to practice law in California. 7+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance bad faith, coverage disputes, or general insurance litigation. Strong motion-writing and legal research skills. Experience taking and defending depositions. Background in insurance litigation at a defense firm is a plus. Ability to work independently while collaborating with the legal team. Willingness to travel as needed for depositions, court appearances, and case work. Education Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications Active license to practice law in California. Skills Strong motion-writing and legal research skills. Experience taking and defending depositions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
