Invitation Homes is a place where possibility lives./ppThe HAP Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and timely information to internal and external customers regarding Housing Authority accounting needs. This position will also perform monthly audits to insure program compliance./ppWhat Youll Do/pulliProvide the financial data on the RTA packets for a prospective Resident/liliAccess Housing Authority portals to extract payment information/liliCreate receipt batches in Yardi to apply HAP payments/liliResearch HAP and Resident AR balances on the Resident ledger to determine accuracy of the payment application/liliCommunicate with Property Management field personnel and HAP Authorities to resolve discrepancies and share HAP correspondence/liliReview HAP contracts and the Residents lease to verify charges/li/ulpWho Were Looking For/pulliBA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred/liliMinimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience/liliReal estate development, hospitality, and/or property management experience preferred/liliKnowledge of HUD policies and regulations/liliKnowledge and use of Yardi property management software preferred/liliIntermediate Excel user with ability to export / create documents for internal reporting/liliEntry-level knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/liliStrong written/oral and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate in a professional manner with all levels in the organization, across functional groups/liliAbility to communicate processes / procedures in an easily comprehensible manner/liliAnalytical; with the ability to interpret medium to complex issues, analyze multiple variables, to determine the root problem and bring issues to a successful conclusion in a high-volume fast paced environment/liliOrganized and flexible; with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines/liliAccuracy; with the ability to audit / reconcile resident ledgers and accounting systems to ensure data integrity/li/ulpWhy Invitation Homes/ppWe stand for flexibility, opportunity, and a home that people can make their own.
