Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care for all age groups in a Pediatric ICU setting
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information at all times
• Float as determined by patient volumes to NICU, PICU, Pediatric medical floor, or Peds ED
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for the entire orientation week is required

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• TNCC certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience with ventilator competency
• At least 1 year of post-orientation experience required
• Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for complex pediatric patient populations including trauma, burn, neurosurgery, respiratory, sepsis, hematology/oncology, and chronic/trach patients
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Flexible, team-oriented approach with the ability to adapt to varying patient volumes and unit needs
