Personal Trainer

As a Personal Trainer at the Y, you are in a unique position to change someone's life by building connections and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Our Personal Trainers instruct and motivate individuals and small groups in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement. Under the direction of the Regional Director of Wellness Experience, the Personal Trainer's primary responsibilities include:developing workout plans for various fitness levels and populationsworking one-on-one with clients, small group personal training (2-4), and encouraging growth and development of boot campsProviding assessments to ensure quality and progressions towards client goalsEssential FunctionsEffectively recruits new clients and promotes current programs.Provides individuals with exercise testing, prescriptions and instructions.Creates a welcoming and enthusiastic environment in the wellness center for all fitness levels and encourages and motivates members.Maintains working knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information and support to members.Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.Confirms and redeems personal training sessions.Attends required training sessions, workshops and staff meetings.Participates in master classes, fundraising and other special events, as required.Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.2+ years of education in Exercise Science preferred; or equivalent combination of training and experienceCurrent CPR, First Aid and Oxygen (ASHI); or willing to obtain within first 30 daysTraining experience and expertise; Injuries, Weight Loss, Sports ConditioningWillingness to work with all ages.Strong interpersonal, communication and social media skillsCurrent nationally-recognized Personal Training Certifications, such as:ACSMAFAACSCSNETANASMACE #J-18808-Ljbffr
