Work Environment
You will work in a supportive and inclusive remote environment, leveraging digital tools to maintain a strong connection with clients and colleagues. While the primary work setting is home-based, you will also have access to our outpatient office in Joliet when necessary. Regular business hours will be your standard but be prepared for occasional evening shifts to accommodate clients' needs. You will engage with a multidisciplinary team, including case managers, psychiatrists, and social workers, ensuring well-rounded care for those you support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for clients based on comprehensive evaluations of their mental health needs.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals, groups, and families, utilizing a variety of approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
- Collaborate with case managers and healthcare professionals to coordinate services and ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Address urgent client needs by providing effective crisis intervention during acute distress situations, employing a calm and professional demeanor.
- Participate in community outreach programs to enhance mental health awareness and accessibility, emphasizing the importance of mental wellness.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your clients will encompass a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, including individuals from various cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic groups. This role emphasizes cultural competence and sensitivity, ensuring each client feels seen and understood. You will work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, adapting your therapeutic approach to meet their unique needs.
Qualifications
- A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois.
- A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling the establishment of rapport and effective therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Emotional intelligence, showing empathy and understanding to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure accurate documentation and follow-up.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with specific populations such as children, teens, or individuals navigating substance use disorders is a plus.
- Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and electronic health record systems to streamline client management.
- Participation in community engagement activities and workshops is welcomed, as it demonstrates an active commitment to mental health advocacy.
